Share Your Story Etiquette

Behind every wristband, there's a story. The power of our stories lies in our willingness to share them. Share Your Story invites everyone who has been affected by cancer to share their experiences at www.livestrong.org.

The mission of this program is to unite cancer survivors. When we band together and share our stories, we'll help others learn from similar cancer experiences and show people they are not alone in their battle with the disease.

When submitting a story, please refrain from using/doing the following:

  • Names of specific doctors, treatment centers/clinics, or products.
  • Promotion of brand names of pharmaceutical products (unless you are talking about drugs you used during your own treatment)
  • Alternative therapies/medicines sold outside of the U.S. (injections, pills, etc.) that are not approved oncology drugs/therapies.
  • Links to sites or products that provide misleading or controversial information about cancer diagnosis, treatment, and/or survivorship.
  • Profanity that might upset or offend someone.
  • Nudity that might be perceived as inappropriate or offensive.
  • Uploading, posting, emailing, transmitting or otherwise making available any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortious, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable.
